‘Zero Day’ Season 2? Netflix TV Show Renewal Status Revealed

Zero Day is one of the big new hits on Netflix.

In the series, A former U.S. President (Robert De Niro) is called out of retirement to find the source of a deadly cyberattack, only to discover a vast web of lies and conspiracies.

And while the finale of Season 1 addressed many of the questions brought up throughout the limited series’ six episode run, fans are still curious about whether the show will enjoy a second season on the streamer.

As of right now, there is no news about a Season 2 of Zero Day.

Executive producers Noah Oppenheim and Eric Newman both confirmed that the plan was to wrap up the story in six episodes. However, they both admitted they contemplated a potential Season 2 in an interview with Decider.

“I think we’ve told a complete story. At least, we feel like we have, but I think both of us have ideas about where these characters might be, and I think also how the world might react,” Noah said.

“I mean, that’s the other interesting thing. The series ends with George Mullen obviously making a pretty dramatic decision with wide-ranging consequences. And we every now and then chat about what could happen in the world.”

“There’s also, I think, a part of us that’s like, ‘It’s not our problem what happens next,’” Eric added with a laugh, before admitting that now that the cast has reunited to promote the series, there’s a temptation to keep going.

“You think, ‘God, I would love to spend another nine months with these people,’” he went on to say. “That’s sort of been, more than anything, the impetus for like, yeah, maybe we can do another season.”

“But you know, many rivers to cross. Let’s get it out first and see what the world thinks,” he added.
