Several readers have raised concerns about sources included in the Notes section that reflect conservative positions. I included these not to endorse them, but to embody the post’s central argument about reaching across our divisions. While some of these perspectives may be upsetting—as are some of my own views to others—I believe examining different viewpoints strengthens rather than weakens “conversation.” That said, I hear your concerns and will continue thinking carefully about how best to present contrasting perspectives.
